Real Estate Marketing Consultant

If you need a real estate marketing consultant rather than a full agency, Briefcase Studio offers senior, hands-on advice from Brad Cartier, a former marketing lead at Stessa, Hostfully, and FundMore. We audit what you are doing, pick the few channels that matter, and help your team execute.

Consultant or agency?

An agency does the work. A consultant helps you decide what work to do and how to do it well. Many real estate companies do not need another vendor producing more content. They need someone experienced to look at the whole picture and say: stop these three things, double down on this one, and here is how.

Briefcase can do either. Most consulting clients start with an audit and a plan. Some keep us on as an advisor. Others move into a production retainer.

Common consulting projects

  • Marketing audit: channels, content, website, email, and reporting, with a prioritized fix list.

  • Newsletter strategy: whether you should launch one, what it should cover, and how to grow it.

  • Brand and messaging refresh for a brokerage, lender, or proptech company.

  • Hiring help: defining your first marketing hire and reviewing candidates' work.

  • Content system design: calendars, templates, and workflows your team can run.

Who this suits

Real estate companies with a small marketing team or a founder doing marketing on nights and weekends. Proptech companies that need senior judgment but are not ready for a VP of marketing. Lenders and operators who have tried agencies and want someone who understands their business before giving advice.

Our background

Brad has led marketing at three real estate technology companies: Stessa (rental property finance), Hostfully (short-term rental management), and FundMore (mortgage underwriting). He also runs Square Footage, a weekday newsletter covering the top US real estate stories for 35,000+ readers, which he built from scratch.

That mix of in-house and media experience shapes our advice. We think about audience first, then distribution, then content.

How consulting is priced

Audits and strategy projects are scoped as fixed-fee projects. Ongoing advisory and execution roll into Briefcase Studio retainers, which typically run $3,000 to $6,000 per month.

What you walk away with

A short written plan, not a 90-slide deck. It covers your audience, your positioning, two or three priority channels, a content calendar for the next quarter, and the metrics you will use to judge it. If we execute it with you, you also get the templates and processes so the work outlasts the engagement.
