Capping Wealth: Dutch economist Ingrid Robeyns proposes "Limitarianism," a provocative concept advocating a cap on individual wealth to address growing inequality and unethical accumulation practices. Highlighting extreme wealth's moral and societal implications, Robeyns suggests that developed countries should implement wealth limits to foster a fairer society. Despite skepticism regarding its feasibility and potential impacts on innovation and ambition, her idea has sparked debate about economic equality, the moral responsibilities of the wealthy, and the structural changes needed to bridge the widening wealth gap. Insurance Breakup Saga: State Farm General Insurance has announced it will not renew California's 72,000 residential property insurance policies, affecting 42,000 multifamily apartment units and 30,000 single-family properties. This represents a 2% reduction in the company's policy count in the state. The changes will take effect on July 3, 2024, for homeowners, rental dwellings, residential community associations, and business owner policies, and on August 20, 2024, for commercial apartment policies. The decision was made due to inflation, catastrophe exposure, reinsurance costs, and outdated insurance regulations. (HW)

Only 22% have formal metrics for tracking rental fraud and its business impact, and 73% say more than half of rental fraud is detected after residents move in.
